Indian Premier League (IPL)
Objective – To design and develop a unique and interesting packaging solution for the IPL auction 2012. The structure should hold 5 sets of cards of player profiles printed on paperboard and will be displayed on the television during the auction. The target consumers were the team owners.
Process – We conceptualized using our patented ‘Slider Pack’ as the platform. Ergonomics and visual appeal were major concerns as the pack will be on display and handled throughout the auction. Features were developed to assist in picking the cards from the box. Effects like drip-off coating, printing on MET-PET were deployed to enhance the graphics. Out of the various concepts presented, one design was finalized which was optimized to meet the manufacturing requirements. Each box was closely examined by Design Park to ensure high-end quality.
Impact – The concept was well appreciated by the client because of the surprise element incorporated in the structure. It was also displayed in the recent toy fair at Germany, from where a no. of enquiries for export have flown in.
